Portraits

Going to be taking a lot of portraits now. This is Jude. He works at Big Fish Little Fish just outside of Davis Square at the corner of Elm and Cedar Streets. I rode by and noticed him smoking a cigarette on a hay bale set up as a sort of rustic display near the entrance to the store.
Jude proved a very gracious subject and he let me fire off a few pictures - not much going on in the store anyway.
Images 1&3 are from the same source file - just cropped and developed differently. Image one printed up very well.
Oh yeah, I bought a nice, compact, 50mm macro lens which is fantastic. Sharp, light, cheap(ish) and pretty all around cool.
I'll be posting more as I record them.

Fake Holgas

Learned this technique online. I love it. Next step - install a real Holga lens onto the old digital rebel and see what that produces. In the meantime, this effect is capturing almost exactly what i am trying to do - create a dreamworld with the illusion of great depth.
